G’day everyone my name is Ali or a name you may know me by, Handcrafted By Ali.
A little bit about me…..
I moved from Ipswich to the Gold Coast in 1989, where I meet my beautiful husband Paul, and married in 1994. We have two wonderful adult boys, Jordan and Ashleigh who have both recently moved out and making a life for themselves. As we are now empty nesters, I have recently acquired my own craft room, where I now craft whenever I can.
Crafting has always been in my blood, especially scrapbooking where I made my first photo album at a very young age, but lost my crafting mojo when life became hectic with family. I work full-time in a government department, where I’m part of Administration team, and I absolutely love what I do.
I was inspired by a fellow YouTuber, Kyra from Simply Creative Kyra to create a YouTube channel, and this is where “Handcrafted By Ali” was born.
Take 5 Art Collaboration
I am part of an Art Collaboration team of eleven other talented ladies from around the world, where Kyra from Simply Creative Kyra, pulls out five prompts that we have to use and come up with an Art Journal Page. On the last day of the month, we each release our take5 Art journal pages, and if you are playing along with us, please make sure that you use the #take5art where we can see your take 5 art pages you are creating.
How I get inspired.
I get my inspired by events, or things that are happening around me. I also have an Inspiration Bucket, which is full of prompts to use not only in Art Journaling, but can be used for Artist Trading Cards or Tags. This idea came from Kyra who has an Inspiration Bucket also; I have adapted mine to include other prompts and items that are in my stash.
Other ways I get inspired is through planning. Sometime things happen around me or I see something that I think that would be a great idea to share, but I don’t have time to video. I have a notebook that I write my ideas down for future creating.
Magazines (Franie and Daphne’s Diary are my favourites)
Pinterest – There’s a lot of ideas that I see that assists me to create cards, Art Journal Pages, even other art and craft ideas.
I’d love to hear from you, why not drop me an email or make comment. I hope that my website helps you with inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by, and until next time…..Happy Crafting.
